Link Sleekplan posts with Jira issues and keep status in sync

Updated over a week ago

Sleekplan's Jira integration lets you create new or link existing Jira issues with your feedback posts, so you can push feedback to Jira without leaving the Sleekplan.

Install the Jira integration

  • Navigate to Settings > Integrations

  • Search for Jira and press "Install"
    or
Install it from the Atlassian Marketplace

  • Select a site to install Sleekplan and press "Install app"

  • You'll get redirected to the App Configuration page
โ€‹(If the redirect doesn't work go to Apps > Manage your Apps > Sleekplan > Configure)

  • Select "Complete Installation" and choose a Sleekplan workspace to connect

Sync status with Jira

The Sleekplan for Jira integration comes with a two-way sync feature. So if you update the status at Sleekplan, we will update the linked issue on Jira as well, and if you update the status of an issue on Jira, we will reflect that status update on Sleekplan. To be able to use the status sync, you will need to map your existing Jira statuses with Sleekplan.

  • Navigate to Settings > Integrations

  • Search for Jira and select "Settings"

  • Select a Jira Status for every Sleekplan status you want to keep in sync. If you want to skip a specific status just select "None".

If you're done, we will immediately start to listen for status changes on both sides.

Link a Sleekplan post to a Jira issue

Now that you have installed the Jira integration, you will find a new sidebar widget on each post, that lets you create new issues or link to existing issues on Jira.

1. Connect a Sleekplan post with an existing Jira issue

  • Open a post in full mode (not preview mode)

  • Find the Jira module on the right sidebar

  • Search for an issue using the issue title

  • Select the search icon next to the input field

  • Select the Jira issue you want to link to this post

2. Connect a Sleekplan post with a new Jira issue

  • Open a post in full mode (not preview mode)

  • Find the Jira module on the right sidebar

  • Select "Create new Issue"

  • Fill in the details for the Jira issue and select "Create"

  • Done

3. Unlink an Issue

  • Open a post in full mode (not preview mode)

  • Find the Jira module on the right sidebar

  • Select "Unlink issue"
