The Feedback Board settings give you full control over how your public-facing feedback experience looks and behaves. From this section, you can configure how users interact with posts, including enabling or disabling features like voting, visual feedback, and comment likes. You can also fine-tune content moderation by setting up post and comment approval workflows, define a bad words list to trigger automatic review, and customize sorting and categorization defaults. Let's go through all the available settings.
General Settings
All feedback board settings are accessed through the main Settings menu > General > Feedback Board.
π Support contact : When enabled, this option allows your users to reach out to you directly via the widget or the standalone feedback page. You can specify an email address that will be used as the support contact destination
πLog updates in comment section : When turned on, Sleekplan automatically adds a new comment to a post whenever its content or status is updated. This keeps users informed about any changes without requiring manual communication.
π Comment likes : Allows users to give a β€ like to comments on feedback posts. Enabling this adds a social engagement layer to discussions on your board.
π Visual feedback : Enables a screen capture button inside the feedback widget, so users can attach a screenshot directly when submitting feedback. This is particularly useful for bug reports.
π Hide post dates : When enabled, the timestamp on comments will be hidden from public view.
πHide comment dates: When enabled, the timestamp on comments will be hidden from public view. Useful if you prefer a cleaner or more timeless-looking interface.
πDownvote: Activates a downvote option on feedback posts, in addition to the default upvote. This gives users a way to express that a feature is less important or unwanted.
πPriority: Enables a priority selector on feedback posts. When active, users or admins can assign a priority level to each submission to help triage and focus on what matters most.
πNotify upvoter : When enabled, users who have upvoted a post will automatically receive a notification when that post is marked as 'Completed'. This is a great way to close the feedback loop and keep your most engaged users informed.
πPublic tags: When this option is enabled, end users can see and filter posts by custom tags you have created, directly in the frontend of the feedback board.
πAllow users to set tags : When enabled, end users can assign existing tags to a post when they create it. This is useful for keeping submissions organized without requiring admin intervention.
Display Defaults
πDefault 'sort by': Sets the default sort order for feedback posts displayed on the widget's home screen. Options typically include sorting by newest first, most voted, and so on. The example shown defaults to 'Newest first'.
πDefault 'category': Defines which category is pre-selected when a user lands on the feedback widget home screen. Defaults to 'All' to show posts from every category.
πDefault 'status': Defines which status filter is pre-selected on the feedback widget home screen. Defaults to showing all posts that are not closed.
Metadata
πInclude system metadata: When enabled, Sleekplan will automatically collect and attach system-level metadata (such as browser type, operating system, and screen resolution) to each feedback submission. This can be extremely helpful when triaging bug reports.
πAdvanced metadata : Enables the collection of additional, more detailed metadata beyond the standard system information. Leave this off unless you have a specific need for deeper technical data on submissions.
Moderation
πPost moderation: When enabled, any new feedback post submitted by a user must be reviewed and approved by a team member before it becomes publicly visible on the board. This gives you full control over published content.
πComment moderation : Similar to post moderation, enabling this setting requires all new comments to be reviewed and approved before they are shown publicly. Useful for boards that need a higher level of content oversight.
πBad Words List: You can enter a comma-separated list of words that will automatically trigger moderation for any post or comment containing them. If this field is left empty, all content will be subject to moderation (when either moderation toggle is on). Example: word1, word2, word3.
