Public Board: End-User Access Options
When your board is set to Public, anyone can access it. However, you can still control how users authenticate and interact with your board through several configuration options:
Available Options:
πForce single sign-on (SSO): When enabled, users who authenticate through your app are given access the board without the need of an additional login. This is ideal for organizations that want to maintain centralized identity management while keeping their board publicly accessible.
You can also leverage the Segmentation feature thanks to SSO.
πAnonymous voting and posting: Allows users to vote, post feedback, and comment without providing an email address. This lowers the barrier to participation but reduces accountability and tracking capabilities.
πRegistration requires email verification: New users must confirm their email address the first time they register. This helps prevent spam and ensures valid contact information while maintaining a relatively low barrier to entry.
πSign in requires email confirmation: When enabled, a four-digit code is sent to the user's email each time they attempt to log in. This provides enhanced security without requiring password management.
βΉοΈ Important: If disabled, users can log in with any email address without verification, which may pose security risks.
Private Board: Advanced Privacy Settings
When your board is set to Private, access is restricted based on authentication requirements you define. This is suitable for internal company boards, beta testing groups, or any scenario requiring controlled access.
Available Options:
πPassword protection: Grant access to anyone who has the password. This is a simple way to restrict access without requiring individual user management, ideal for small teams or temporary projects.
πSSO (Single sign-on): Grant access to anyone who has been identified via your SSO system. Learn more about SSO configuration.
πParticular team/company: Grant access to anyone with an email address from a specific domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com). This is perfect for company-wide internal boards where you want to limit access to employees without setting up SSO.
πEnterprise SSO Connection: Set up a company internal board with SAML SSO integration using identity providers like Okta, OneLogin, or similar services. This enterprise-grade solution provides the highest level of security and user management capabilities. Learn more about Enterprise SSO.
